"Laat Me” (Let me) is a single by the Dutch singer Ramses Shaffy from his 1978 album "Day and Night". It is a cover of the French song “Ma dernière volonté” (Vivre) (1977) by Serge Reggiani (French text by Sylvain Lebel and music by Alice Dona). The Dutch lyrics were written by Herman Pieter de Boer. A song so typicaly for Ramses, with a substantially different content than the French song. Shaffy changed several lines of the last verse several times in 1993. This Gypsy style music, so stirring up, tempted me to cover this beautiful song also in Dutch.
