What is the roundest object in the world? How much is the world's roundest object worth ? What is its use ? _ 🔔 - https://www.youtube.com/wisemunch?sub_confirmation=1 _ A perfect sphere of silicon is being made to solve the ‘kilogram problem.’ It is the roundest man made object. Raw material to make this is worth 1 Million euro means approx 8 Crore. Now what is kilogram problem ? To understand we will have to go in past. What is one Kg ? In 1799 standard kg weight was defined. It was equal to the weight of 1 litre water at 4 degree Celsius. At 4 degree C water has the highest density. To measure 1 kg with water every-time, was not practical. So equivalent pure platinum 1 kg weight was made standard. In 1889 it was replaced with more stable weight made of platinum-iridium alloy. It still resides in Paris, France at Bureau of weights and measures. It is called international prototype kilogram. 40 copied of it were also made to send all over the world in various countries for national weight standardisation. They were collected in 1948 to compare their weight with international prototype kilogram. Their weight was drifting from the standard weight. This was not acceptable. How a unit can be standard, if it change with time. This is called ‘kilogram problem.’ This will not only change the definition of 1 kg but also affect other derived units like Newton, Watt, Volt etc. There are seven fundamental units defined by International System of Units (SI Units). The meter (symbol: m), used to measure length. The kilogram (symbol: kg), used to measure mass. The second (symbol: s), used to measure time. The ampere (symbol: A), used to measure electric current. The kelvin (symbol: K), used to measure temperature. The mole (symbol: mol), used to measure amount of substance. The candela (symbol: cd), used to measure light intensity. Kilogram is the only fundamental unit defined by physical object. All other fundamental units have been defined by the concept means ‘physical properties’ that never change. It means, their value can be verified by anyone, anytime. Now, attempts are being made to define 1 kg with concept not by object. Among those attempts, one is International Avogadro Project. They are trying to define 1 kg by the weight of specific no of atoms of pure Silicon-28 crystal. Pure silicon is free from structural defects, dislocations and impurities. To define this best shape is sphere, because to calculate its volume only one dimension is required, its diameter. A second, competing method to determine a standard measurement for the kilogram is the "watt balance" also known as “Kibble balance”-- a system tied to Earth's gravitational pull on a kilogram and the force needed to counteract it. We may soon define 1 kg by concept, eliminating all errors associated with objects. Duniya ki sabse gol cheez kya hai ? ye kitni mehngi hai ?
