Along the way, Vira became a weyrshofft-adopted Stuckmocky, agreed to plafond - a lifelong spiritual bond, and discovered she had the aura of Audra, which meant she was fulfilling her destiny. During a Rizenwikk-induced spiritual revelation, Vira's guilty anguish over killing Stuckmocky was awakened. Mirrin freed Fahyrjeon's child V'hyrah from a cage, and it soon revealed a miraculous grasp of English and also a baby in its pouch. When Vira offered V'hyrah some fruit she was oddly rejected. She then discovered that chuckling signalled Stuckmocky communication consensus, that Mirrin had Fahyrjeon's old sword, and that Fahyrjeon learned English from an unwitting Mirrin. The four travellers arrived at the home of the clan and encountered no one but an energetic young sprog called Wishoah. When the three Stuckmocky suddenly became invisible like the rest of the clan, Mirrin was so alarmed he tried to draw his hidden sword and Vira had to restrain him. Wishoah then revealed the sword to the now visible clan.
