Today begin's Wisconsin's short notice wolf hunt and Wolf Patrol is on the ground in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Our monitors found 5 wolf traps placed just feet off of a public road in the national forest. These foothold traps are designed to hold an animal until it can be killed by the trapper. Wolf Patrol will continue it's monitoring of Wisconsin's wolf hunt in all open zones and gathering evidence of the hunt practices which include trapping, hound hunting, baiting, snaring and shooting.
