Woods Waves Wings's video: Lost In The Maze Inside Jaigarh Fort

The stunning views from the top of Jaigarh fort make you realize how perfectly positioned was the fort. While entering the royal palace inside the fort, the first thing that you encounter is a parade ground called Subhat Niwas. This is where the army used to gather. Here you can view huge war drums. You move further to royal Laxmi Vilas. You can not really enter any of the rooms but see from outside. Jaigarh Fort is full of subterranean and ground level passages. Inside the royal palace the passages from one palace section to another, are winding and narrow, just like a dark maze. I personally, loved the getting lost in the narrow passages and then finding my way out to some spectacular views of the world around. There is a centrally located watch tower on a raised platform that provides superb and panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. On the northern side of the fort complex, there is the Aram Mandir Palace and beautiful Charbagh Garden within its courtyard. The beautiful four green gardens or Charbagh and Aaram Bagh are a perfect place for Aaram or rest. Royal bedrooms can be seen on the higher floor of Lalit Mandir. There are separate dining areas for men and women. You cannot walk through these rooms but see through the holes of the grill and glass windows. In the cannon foundry you can see the unfinished cannon and cannon balls. Foundry was built in such a way that it sucked in the mountain air to help reach high temperatures that would melt the metal for the cannons. Goes to show the advancement in technology back in those days.
