Woopnik's video: Racing on HWY 395 to Bishop CA

I have to admit that I increased the speed of this video to squeeze a 40 minutes drive into less then 8 minutes. U.S. Route 395 is a great scenic drive. THe haze in the background of the video is actually smoke from the wild fires. The air quality in Mammoth, CA was so bad that my eyes were burning. U.S. Route 395 invites you to drive a little faster then you maybe should. The cops are aware of that and have established several speed traps along Route 395. Don't drive any faster if you don't have a radar detector in your car. Else it will be very expensive to exceed the prescribed rate of speed. U.S. Route 395 is a U.S. Route in the western United States. The southern terminus of the route is in the Mojave Desert at Interstate 15 near Hesperia. The northern terminus is at the Canada–US border near Laurier, where the road becomes Highway 395 upon entering British Columbia, Canada.
