Bhai Maninder Singh Srinagar wale has graced this shabad with his melodious voice. gunavanthee sach paaeiaa thrisanaa thaj vikaar | The virtuous obtain Truth; they give up their desires for evil and corruption. gur sabadhee man rangiaa rasanaa praem piaar | Their minds are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad; the Love of their Beloved is on their tongues. bin sathigur kinai n paaeiou kar vaekhahu man veechaar | Without the True Guru, no one has found Him; reflect upon this in your mind and see. manamukh mail n outharai jichar gur sabadh n karae piaar |1| The filth of the self-willed manmukhs is not washed off; they have no love for the Guru's Shabad. ||1|| man maerae sathigur kai bhaanai chal | O my mind, walk in harmony with the True Guru. nij ghar vasehi anmrith peevehi thaa sukh lehehi mehal |1| rehaao | Dwell within the home of your own inner being, and drink in the Ambrosial Nectar; you shall attain the Peace of the Mansion of His Presence. ||1||Pause|| aougunavanthee gun ko nehee behan n milai hadhoor | The unvirtuous have no merit; they are not allowed to sit in His Presence. manamukh sabadh n jaanee avagan so prabh dhoor | The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Shabad; those without virtue are far removed from God. jinee sach pashaaniaa sach rathae bharapoor | Those who recognize the True One are permeated and attuned to Truth. gur sabadhee man baedhiaa prabh miliaa aap hadhoor |2| Their minds are pierced through by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and God Himself ushers them into His Presence. ||2|| aapae rangan rangioun sabadhae laeioun milaae | He Himself dyes us in the Color of His Love; through the Word of His Shabad, He unites us with Himself. sachaa rang n outharai jo sach rathae liv laae | This True Color shall not fade away, for those who are attuned to His Love. chaarae kunddaa bhav thakae manamukh boojh n paae | The self-willed manmukhs grow weary of wandering around in all four directions, but they do not understand. jis sathigur maelae so milai sachai sabadh samaae |3| One who is united with the True Guru, meets and merges in the True Word of the Shabad. ||3|| mithr ghanaerae kar thakee maeraa dhukh kaattai koe | I have grown weary of making so many friends, hoping that someone might be able to end my suffering. mil preetham dhukh kattiaa sabadh milaavaa hoe | Meeting with my Beloved, my suffering has ended; I have attained Union with the Word of the Shabad. sach khattanaa sach raas hai sachae sachee soe | Earning Truth, and accumulating the Wealth of Truth, the truthful person gains a reputation of Truth. sach milae sae n vishurrehi naanak guramukh hoe |4|26|59| Meeting with the True One, O Nanak, the Gurmukh shall not be separated from Him again. ||4||26||59|| http://www.WorldGurudwara.com www Wolrd Gurudwara com Guru Amar Das (Gurmukhi: ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ) (5 May 1479 -- 1 September 1574) was the third of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and was given the title of Sikh Guru on 26 March 1552. Guru Amar Das Ji became Sikh Guru at the age of 73 following in the footsteps of his teacher Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib Ji, who died on 29 March 1552 at age 48. Guru Amar Das ji established his headquarters in the town of Goindwal Sahib, which was established by Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib Ji. Guru Amar Das Ji strongly discouraged the caste system. He raised the status of women by prohibiting the practice of Sati (a wife's suicide on her husband's funeral pyre) and "Parrda" (veil covering the face). He created the prayer ritual called Anand Sahib, which is one of the Five Banis recited daily. He also contributed 907 hymns to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib! Guru Amar Das Ji established 22 branches called Manjis and appointed a local Sikh preacher for each location. Guru Amar Das ji died on 1 September 1574(1574-09-01) (aged 95) in Amritsar, Punjab and was succeeded by Guru Ram Das (4th Guru of Sikhism).
