WrenchBiscuit's video: Poppy Shock MashUp: Papa Was A Rolling Stone Shock The Monkey

@Poppy Shock ( MashUp: Papa Was A Rolling Stone / Shock The Monkey )
wrenchBiscuit vs Peter Gabriel vs Temptations This is wrenchBiscuit's award winning MasupUp of The Temptations "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", and Peter Gabriels " Shock The Monkey". Entitled "Poppy Shock," wrenchBiscuit describes the music as "Heavy Mash". When asked to describe the style wrenchBiscuit replied," When I was a child my father, a farmer, would often take me to the local grain elevator. It was there that I first experienced "Heavy Mash". It was fermenting corn that had been left in deep pits. The corn had gotten wet, and the smell was intoxicating; much like the smell of of moonshine, or whiskey." He continued," People think that they understand the fermentation process, but most really do not. The process is at work on many different levels. The fermentation of fruits and vegetables is just one aspect. Music, art, and even the muse itself, also go through this process. When I use the term "Heavy Mash", I am not simply referring to the obvious concept of combining, or "mashing together" various elements into a new whole. On a much deeper level, I am further refining ideas and musical concepts that have existed for years. Collectively, these two songs span 70 years! This process is like magic, but I'm not revealing anymore of the process at this time. Let the bloodsuckers figure it out for themselves!" "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" was originally written in 1971 by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for The Undisputed Truth and became a hit for the Temptations in 1973. Otherwise it's a pure mashup. The Video: footage of orphaned European children during WWII; several blues legends, including Son House and Robert Johnson; Winamp visualizations.
