I made this video for a police department to show what would happen if the roll pin broke and or fell out of a Springfield Armory XD. The Striker Retainer Pin (roll pin) is a critical part and the XD should not be carried with a compromised roll pin. The roll pin is used to stop the forward movement of the Striker from going too far forward and allowing the striker to get stuck with the firing pin sticking out of the breech face. But in an emergency the pistol will still function when you need it. I also show in the video how to clear the malfunction associated with a broken or removed roll pin.
