Xtra Time's video: From Kolkata streets to cricket stardom: meet 3-Year-old Rishika Sarkar

In the movie "Apur Sansar," directed by Satyajit Ray and starring Soumitra Chatterjee, little Kajol was seen riding on his father's shoulders towards Kolkata. In reality, Rishika Sarkar rides to practice in a similar manner, on the back of her father's bicycle. A few years ago, Xtra Time discovered the wonder boy from Behala, Sheikh Shahid. And now, in a similar manner, famous radio jockey RJ Praveen discovered 3-and-a-half-year-old 'viral girl' Rishika. It was a few weeks ago. A video by the RJ Praveen went viral, in which little Rishika was seen practicing for hours under her father's guidance. But that's not all! Her cover drive, on drive, square cut, and straight drive would leave anyone astonished. Rishika lives in a small two-room house in an area of New Town with her father, Rajib, and mother, Radhika Sarkar. Amidst all the household items, there is a shining presence of the goddess Saraswati. Below her are a cricket bat and ball. Rishika's father tutors the neighborhood's small children, and this is how they make a living. Despite this, Rishika's parents dream that their beloved daughter will become a great cricketer. Little Rishika is also determined to become a cricketer. To help turn this dream into reality, the Yuvraj Singh Center of Excellence and the Merlin Group have come forward. This time, the Merlin Group has awarded a scholarship to the 3-and-a-half-year-old cricket prodigy.
