Along with finishing the Metro Line 3 station work, Japan imported track laying work has begun. 11 kilometres of track work has already been completed.
For the first time, such Low Vibration Track (High Attenuation) technology is being used for track construction in India. M/s Sonneville AG, a Swiss company, designed this system to reduce higher levels of noise and vibration in the range of 22VdB (vibration measurement) generated during train operations on this line.
The underground Metro Line 3 will be 33.5 kilometres long, both up and down, with 10,754 metric tonnes of specially designed Japan imported tracks installed.
Meanwhile, while Metro Line 3 construction is progressing, the contentious crash site remains unresolved.
The Mahavikas Aghadi government of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has relocated the crash site from Aarey to Kanjurmarg, but no work has begun due to State and Central Government issues.
