The government informed the Lok Sabha on December 2 in a written reply to a question that the redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue, which has a December deadline this year, has made 60% physical progress. On Wednesday, an HCP design official told PTI, "The section of Central Vista Avenue needed for the Republic Day Parade will be completed on time. Some facilities will be finished later." The Central Vista Avenue from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to the India Gate is being redeveloped by Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Limited. New trees would be planted as part of the project, which also includes the construction of parking lots, vending areas, and other amenities. The official also stated that work on the new vice president's enclave and executive enclave housing the Prime Minister's Office is currently in progress. The government announced earlier this month that the new parliament building project, which is scheduled to be completed by October 2022, has made 35% physical progress. The Central Vista redevelopment project includes a new triangular Parliament building, a common central secretariat, a three-kilometer-long Rajpath from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, a new prime minister's residence and prime minister's office, and a new vice president's enclave. On September 16, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced that the Winter Session of Parliament would be held in the new parliament building during the inauguration ceremony of two office complexes for employees of the Defence Ministry and the armed forces. "I would like to assure you that the redevelopment work of Central Vista Avenue, where the Republic Day parade will be held, will be completed in two and a half months," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the event. The bid to build the vice president enclave was won last month by infrastructure firm Kamladityya Construction Pvt Ltd. Under the Central Vista redevelopment project, Larsen & Toubro Limited will construct the first three buildings of the Common Central Secretariat.
