Instagram I'd - https://www.instagram.com/d____naik/ To shorten travel time between Mumbai and Pune, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to connect an under construction Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) Road with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The authority is currently looking for a consultant to create a full project study and determine the best linkage for it. The concept had been in the works for almost a decade, but due to the MTHL's delay, it could not be realised. A tender has been published for the employment of a consultant for "Preparation of DPR for connectivity of MTHL to Mumbai Pune Expressway and as per the basic plan as the MTHL will land into Chirle in Navi Mumbai, a 6 km of the link will be connected to the Expressway," according to the officials. According to an official, this will allow commuters to travel directly to Pune from Worli in South Mumbai without getting stopped in traffic, saving them over an hour of travel time. A plan is also in the works to connect MTHL to National Highway 17, which will lead to Bangalore.
