@Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project to take 2 More Years to Complete | Metro Depot Shifted to Kanjurmarg
Instagram I'd - https://www.instagram.com/d____naik/ According to a senior official of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the Colaba-SEEPZ Metro rail line-3 may take another two to two-and-a-half years to complete because many activities, including some tunnel boring work and station building, are still outstanding. Once finished, the city's first underground metro line would connect south Mumbai and the western suburbs to the city airport, easing traffic congestion for outlying residents. "Mumbai metro line 3 would take at least another two to two-and-a-half years to complete as a lot of works remain other than the depot," MMRDA's metropolitan commissioner SVR Srinivas said during a news conference on Thursday. "Apart from station building and other works like signalling, telecommunications, overhead wires, and control centre, among other things," he continued, "another 1.5 km-long tunnel boring work on the 33.5 km route is pending." The Maharashtra government, backed by the Shiv Sena, had previously decided to relocate the Metro car shed from Aarey Colony to suburban Kanjurmarg, causing the mammoth underground metro line project to be delayed. Despite resistance from environmentalists and campaigners, the previous BJP-led government decided to build the car shed for the Mumbai Metro line 3 at Aarey Colony in the western suburbs, despite widespread tree-cutting for the project. The current Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, on the other hand, has decided to relocate the auto shed from Aarey Colony to Kanjurmarg. The Centre and the state government were at odds over who owned the property that the state had set aside for the construction of a car depot in Kanjurmarg. According to Srinivas, the MMRDA is conducting a study to extend the Chembur-Wadala-Jacob Circle monorail route by 200-250 metres in order to connect it to Mumbai metro line 3. “We will take decision about it within a month,” he said Copyright Related Issue Please Contact naikdinesh24@gmail.com OR DM on Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/d____naik/ *DISCLAIMER* CLIPS / IMAGES USED IN THE VIDEO ARE -ROYALTY FREE -IN PUBLIC DOMAIN -CREATIVE COMMONS -COMMON OWNERSHIP GIVEN BY GOVERMENT OF INDIA Video is for educational purpose only.
