He has learned Indian Classical & Light Music from his father late Shree Shankarji & his uncle late Shree Shambhuji, they were world famous sufi singers duo, fame as "shankar shambhu qawwal" Ram Shankar has given his first public performance as singer in Mumbai at the age of 10 years in the famous Shanmukhananda Auditorium. Since that day he never looked back. He has given more than 3000 shows of Sufi songs, Ghazal's, Bhajan's & Qawwali's in the all big Cities of India and in the abroad like U.S, U.K, U.A.E, CANADA, ROME, FIJI and many more Countries. As a playback singer Ram Shankar has sung for many Hindi feature films like Bichchhu, Aastha, Jaanwar, Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni, Judge Mujrim, Ganga Ki Saugandh, Dulhe Raja, Bal Bramhachari, Pardesi Babu, Janani, Shyam Ghanshyam, Ek Hindustani, Haseena Maan Jaayegi,(Sanwariya & Bombay in the background score) etc. Apart from playback singing Ram shankar's many music albums released in the marked by various famous Music companies, some of the famous albums are yaro sab dua karo (zee music), yaar ka deedar chaiye (Venus), Tum Yaad na aaya karo (Venus), Yaar Bewafa (Venus), Kabhi Dil Roya Kabhi Hum Roye (Venus), Ye Hai Jalwa (Universal), Ishq Ishq (Universal), Mehfil (Tips), Re Deewani (Archies Music), Shaam-E-Saaki (Shemaroo audio), Revolution (Qawwali remix by Bally Sagoo, company - The Dub factory), Ye Ishq hai (Aks music) and many more. After the release of Ramshankar's super duper hit album Yaro sab dua karo by zee music his name was listed in the top sufi and playback singers of india. Besides the singing he has given music direction for the Hindi feature films like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Arjun Deva, Dil Bhi Kya Cheez Hai, Jigyaasa, Ghazab Nagariya, Mahima Kashi Vishwanath Ki and Sparsh "the touch" and some more movies are under production will be released shortly. Ram Shankar also having his own production house in Mumbai by the name of "Blessing Telemedia", very soon under this production house his plan is to make hindi featured films, TV serials & some TV reality shows. Ram Shankar is also one of the partner of AKS Entertainment (Production, Distribution & Music Company) having their offices in Dubai, Mumbai & Hyderabad. For the talented and deserving upcoming singers, Ram Shankar is starting a vocal academy by the name of Viraasat Vocal Academy from 1st of July at Andheri (W), Mumbai Ram Shankar has also given vocal training to many known playback singers.
