Number 60 off of Baltimore's Jack Fisher was called by Mel Allen (had he only called instead of red Barber) on this September evening in 1961. This is a true gem and Maris being called by the Yankee Stadium crowd from the dugout after the homer is a genuinely wonderful moment. Long live the REAL all-time single season home run king Roger Maris.
