On the Nov. 27, 2009 edition of SmackDown, Luke Gallows - the Superstar formerly known as Festus - was reintroduced to the WWE Universe by The Straight Edge Superstar CM Punk. After years of being in a permanent, unnatural state due to drug abuse, Gallows was rescued by Punk and shown the error of his ways. "It's obvious now that my previous existence was not my fault," explains Gallows. "What isn't obvious is the fact that the people that I loved were no better than the common street pusher. They forced me to walk around in a comatose state. I looked and acted like a moron and it was all induced by a prescription drug addiction." But Gallows believes he has now found the support he needs in the form of The Second City Saint and his Straight Edge way of life. "I was lost but now I am found. And I pray that other lost souls like me will reach down deep and adopt a Straight Edge lifestyle and accept CM Punk as their 'savior.'" It seems that Gallows' clear-thinking ability has unleashed a new ruthlessness within himself, as he sets out to help Punk run wild through Friday nights.
