Another computer that works. 🛠️ Step-by-Step Guide: 1. 00:00 Introduction: The problem… 2. 00:18 Download Files: - AsProgrammer: https://github.com/nofeletru/UsbAsp-flash/releases - Drivers: https://www.onetransistor.eu/2017/08/ch341a-mini-programmer-schematic.html - Bios Archive: https://telegram.me/s/biosarchive 3. 01:12 Preparing Your Laptop: Safely power down your IdeaPad 320 and open it up to locate the BIOS chip. Disconnect the battery and CMOS. 4. 02:30 Set up the CH341A Programmer: Set up the ch341 programmer and SOIC clip. 5. 03:37 Identify your bios chip: Take note of the model of the bios chip, using your phone camera and flash to take a picture/video at an angle. 6. 03:48 Attaching the SOIC Clip: No soldering required! Attach the SOIC clip to the BIOS chip, ensuring a secure connection. 7. 04:20 Installing drivers: Run the driver .exe's downloaded previously and install, the par and ser.exe 8. 04:40 Getting into the programmer: Open your programmer software, I'm using AsProgrammer. Set up your correct bios chip and settings. 9. 05:23 Creating backups/verify connection: Read the chip twice and save the files, compare in cmd using the following command: certutil -hashfile backup1.bin md5 certutil -hashfile backup2.bin md5 Make sure they give you the same code. 10. 06:40 Flashing the BIOS: Open your bios file that you are going to flash in the programmer. Then under program IC, click on the dropdown “Unprotect - erase - program - verify” then confirm and wait. 11. 07:14 Verification: After the flashing is complete, read the IC once more, save, and compare with the file you flashed using the same cmd. Make sure it's the same code. 12. 08:22 Closing the laptop: Once you're done flashing, you can get back to assembling the laptop, connecting the batteries and putting the backplate on, disk drive, screws… 13. 09:45 Moment of truth: Will your laptop turn on? I hope it does, if not… you can always try again, maybe with a different bios file. 🌐 Resources and Tips: - You can easily find the programmer on Amazon, eBay, or AliExpress. Do some research though because some black PCB programmers give out 5V instead of 3.3V. - Other tutorial on forums: https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-GUIDE-Flash-BIOS-with-CH341A-programmer?page=3 - Upgrade your laptop after fixing it! https://youtu.be/EnyPFNYiNrM?si=pLR03K-mnYNGv49Y Conclusion: Avoid BIOS updates on Windows unless absolutely necessary.
