Scablands Scavenger's video: Fishing for Trout at Rock lake Washington setting traps for crayfish Spring Trout Trolling

Gone Fishing. Just a little video I shot while fishing at Rock Lake in Washington for trout and trying to trap crayfish. I don't normally go after crayfish this early but one of my daughters wanted them for her birthday dinner. No monster fish but it was a good day out on the water. No crayfish but caught a few trout for the smoker ! My boat is a 2018 Kingfisher 1625 falcon with a 90 horse Evinrude Etech 2 stroke. The kicker is a 6 horse Tohatsu 4 stroke. I am using downriggers but for this early of the year they are not necessary, I just like the convenience of setting two poles at different depths 6-12 feet without adding weight to my line. I find it easier to let the downrigger set the hook when Im running the boat alone, as well as in choppy weather it keeps the depth consistent but that is just my preference. A little weight or diving lures or a planer board set up works well this time of year.
