Zandramah's video: JAMAICAN DANCER FIRED FOR BEING GAY

A Jamaican dancer from the popular “Ravers Dancers” in Dancehall fraternity was recently fired because of his alleged sexual orientation. A viral video circulated of him being in a rather compromising situation where he was called out by a member of the gay community. His management team in response to the incident removed him as not only a dancer from the group but publicly announced that he was no longer affiliated with the team. Although Jamaica is known to be homophobic, the occurrence has spiraled much debate as some see it as act of clear discrimination against his sexual orientation especially by fellow creatives who conduct business and showcase their artistry on an international platform. This production is yet another work that aims to advocate for the human rights of Jamaican gay creatives and gay people on a whole who comes under daily savage brutality from the heavily percentage of homophobic Jamaicans.
