ZeeGooner's video: Referees Dont Decide who the champ is - Migran Arutyunyan 66kg Olympic CHAMPION

@Referees Dont Decide who the champ is - Migran Arutyunyan 66kg Olympic CHAMPION!
Armenian folk song - Rostomi Migran beat an Azeri opponent 4-1 to advance into finals where he faced a Serb and ended the fight with a 1-1. The Serb was granted the golden medal only because his scored last (as the rules of the game dictate). So in fact he did NOT lose, and his Silver medal is no less than the Gold the Serbian athlete received. In any case let us remain positive and celebrate this great achievement and congratulate our fellow countrymen for placing our flag on the olympic podium! Congratulations! After yesterday's 66kg final Serbia's Davor Stefanek walked away with the gold medal, but not without discussion. Migran Arutyunyan of Armenia was winning by a score of 1-0 with a little over a minute left in bout when the referee offered a passivity on him, his second, making the score 1-1 with criteria in favor of the Serbian. Typically, the wrestler who is more offensive and taking ground will get at least 1 opportunity from top. Arutyunyan was more aggressive for the entirity of the bout but was given no opportunity from top. The more passive Stefanik was given an inexplicable two chances from top, giving him the 1-1 advantage late with less than a minute to go. Arutyunyan, knowing that time was an issue, promptly stood up from the down position to face his opponent and continue wrestling. With a full minute left to wrestle Arutyunyan pressured forward gaining mat space and yet the officials stayed dormant. Time expired. Arutyunyan was left with a silver medal, Visibly distraught from the controversial loss Arutyunyan told Wrestling.Russia that he wants nothing to do with the Olympic Games anymore. Even going as far as to say "I do not want the trash to be here. I want it be far from me." Voicing his frustration Arutyunyan went on to say "I am no longer interested in anything, any sport, any Olympic medal. I repeat, it is all rubbish." This is the translation from the above Instagram post. Still visibly upset on the medal stand, Arutyunyan was reluctant to accept his silver medal from United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic. Emotional from the loss, Arutyunyan has expressed via social media that he will not compete again, but nothing has been officially confirmed. Rio 2016 is full of scandals: doping, robbery in the Olympic village, ticket machinations and now also referee’s partial treatment. During the men’s 66 kg Greeco-Roman wrestling competition final the fans could recognize some referee mistakes, which has become a big tool in one of the wrestlers’ hands. Serbian Davor Stefanek and Armenia’s Migran Arutyunyan were revealing the Olympic champion. The bout finished with a score 1-1, with the Serbian claiming the Olympic gold only due to the point earned last. The point he earned was given by the referees, as they took a technical point from Arutyunyan. Moreover, the judge placed the Armenian in the par terre position several times, which, according to him was not deserved. Leaving the analytics to the wrestling experts, one thing was clear: Davor Stefanek’s won bout was a big controversy. Migran Arutyunyan received the applause after the bout, while the Serbian was booed. Some said the partial treatment was due to fact that the IOC representative for the match was from Serbia, but that would be a serious accusation. The fact was that Davor Stefanek ended up biting the gold medal, while Arutyunyan was sheering tears of injustice feeling, having the Silver medal hang down his neck. However, the Armenians refuse to accept the loss, believing that Arutyunyan is the true champion. One of the leading Armenian bookmakers VivaroBet also took the nation’s side: all the bets made for Arutyunyan’s final victory were considered as winning bets. Interesting, isn’t it? The betting company took the side for justice as they feel it and took their turn to praise the wrestler, despite the financial inefficiency of such a decision. It is yet unknown if such a gesture is something new in betting industry or this is a common practice. However, one thing is real: the betting company alongside with the whole nation found a very creative and unique way to fight injustice (according to them) at the Olympic Games.
