Zipplet Tech's video: DIY: Sharp Twin Famicom - Buck regulator saves the day

@DIY: Sharp Twin Famicom - Buck regulator saves the day!
** PLEASE BE CAREFUL DOING THIS BECAUSE THESE UNITS ARE GETTING VERY RARE AND EXPENSIVE NOW. Expand for more info. ** The power supply for my Sharp Twin Famicom was giving up the ghost. I decide to fix it by building a new power supply based around a buck module, as this games console requires a peculiar input voltage that cannot be satisfied easily by an off-the-shelf power supply. Bonus: You also get to see my new self-made computer controllable power supply Please, please use a decent power supply. Do not buy a jelly bean generic 7.5V multivoltage one like the one I was using - a flick of that switch and your unit might become toast. For those of you outside of Japan I know it is difficult as the official power supply is almost impossible to get and probably unusable for you as it will only work properly on 100V AC - so please instead if you are comfortable, follow my guide here or get a friend who is handy with electronics to build you a power supply the same way I did. Please. These units are getting RARE and EXPENSIVE. If your unit has turbofire switches on the controllers like mine, yours is ESPECIALLY RARE. Don't risk frying it! The reason I was so careful and went into detail when measuring the required power is precisely because this unit is extremely rare and expensive now. Yes I did run it from a home made bench power supply; but that power supply is stable, has been soak tested and I know it is stable. It puts out better power than the buck module I used in the end actually (I changed out the DC-DC module inside, as you'll see when part 2 of the DIY PSU series goes up). It also has current limiting/power monitoring, which is EXACTLY what you want when trying to do something like this. Please do not destroy your lovely Twin Famicom.
