Zone Television's video: 2017 Street Striple Moto2 and Triumph EP 13

January 11, 2017 In MotoGp and Triumph motorcycles have announced a most un suspected partnership with Moto2 .. In 2019 TRIUMPH will officially be the new engine supplier for all the Moto2 bikes however there is a clue that might link this holy alliance together. In November of 2016 an innocuous British motorcycle company known as Spirit Motorcycles unveiled a two models it intends to offer at a premium price The irony that the bike was built around Triumphs Triple 675 but enlarged to 750cc’s with longer stroke… a street and a sport bike. The Sport bike is weighing in somewhere approximately 350 lbs (dry) and a power output of approx. 180 bhp (rear wheel Hp) with a displacement of around 750 cc’s which puts in a category conforming to something mimicking what appears to be unfolding as the new Moto2 rules entry. Coincidence ? It’s hard to say. According to asphalt and rubber there were initially 3 contenders for Moto2 engines Kawasaki, with the ZX-6R, MV Agusta, and Triumph. There are some conflicting reports with respect to precisely form which the motors will be derived. .. a german publication “SPEEDWEEK” claimed that the new motor would be based on the current 675 but there is contention that it also may be based on the new 765cc motor to debut in just two days. According to asphalt and rubber it was stated that the inline 4 was too wide and that the desire to keep the chassis more tailored to racing; riders preferred a narrower frame. Again there are at lest two concerns according to asphalt an rubber ) with Triumphs Triple entering int the frey of such high stakes racing. 1.being reliability and 2.) reference as to how the engine is mounted in the frame.. Going back and taking a closer look at Spirits bike it seems little was changed in terms of mounting solutions though its hard to tell. IN conventionally developed Moto2 twin spar aluminum frame one can see engine mount locations is sufficiently lower … has Triumph already taken this into consideration in the new iteration of its 3 cylinder pedigree sports machines again we will have to wait and see.
