On Saturday, November 2nd I headed out to see the first ever run of Amtrak's Autumn Express. I also took some friends from my small group at my church out with me because they wanted to know what railfanning was like. Here we see this monster 16 car train blow by on the super-elevated curve through Prospect Park-Moore Station. This station was awesome, definitely one of my favorites! This train includes many unique pieces of equipment including: Diesel Engines: P42 (Phase III Heritage), P40 (Phase III Heritage),Horizon cars on the NEC, & Metroliner Conference Car 9800 on the rear. The train also included Amfleet I and II cars. Just as the train is about to pass, northbound Vermonter 54 blows by on the opposite tracks led by a single AEM-7. The Autumn Express is a train first run by Amtrak on November 2 & 3, 2013. The train is a one-ride trip from Philadelphia-Perryville, MA-Harrisburgh, PA-Philadelphia for people to enjoy the fall foliage in the Northeast Region.
