I’ve been playing around with a program called “Hindenburg Journalist”. As the name suggests, it’s primarily used by radio stations and podcasts to edit interviews. However - if you were the type of kid who would face two tape recorders towards each other so that you could muck about with overlapping guitar parts or harmonies, then you’ll understand the driving urge to muck about with it. I could never resist playing with a harmony or eight…. LOL So here’s a wee recording of a Beach Boys song that seems somewhat appropriate for everyone who feels a bit “stuck”. It was the B-side of a single from 1963. (Even their B-sides were better than most stuff we have to endure these days! What’s that about?) Anyhoo - the program isn’t really designed for recording music, so it’s a bit “foggy” - otherwise it was a chance to play with harmony and get a mate of mine to throw in a groovy guitar solo on something. Thanks, Pete Robinson! All other instruments and vocals are by yours truely; he cannot and should not accept the blame for those! As for the video - to spare everyone the challenge of seeing my gorgeous face playing multiple instruments, I’ve simply indulged my sunset fetish with some pics from my travels. I know it makes no sense for a song called, “In My Room”, but perhaps we can look at the photos with a sense of longing and optimism that we’ll get out to enjoy these things soon.
