We even look something alike... but after all, it was merely a lucky chance that saved you from me. That's all I wanted to know." Here I am, squeaking in with my entry at the last minute. For Round 2 of the Elements of Vidding Contest, we were challenged to create a video revolving around the idea of foils. I very quickly settled on Harry Potter and Tom Riddle as the characters I would focus on. Certainly multiple characters function as foils to Harry in different ways (Draco, Snape, Ron, James, etc.), but the relationship between Harry and Tom is the most compelling in my opinion because the narrative ties them together so strongly and emphasizes their many similarities. Starting this video was difficult, as the quote I wanted to use isn't in the films, but once I got the ball rolling I was happy with what I managed to create! The video is like 90% voiceovers, and they're not all perfect, but I tried my best. Hopefully soon I will go back and add subtitles for all the quotes to make sure people can catch all of them. Also I forgot it was Harry's birthday, but it worked out that I was editing him for hours today anyway!
