[small screen + hd] This is my entry for Round One of the Elements of Vidding contest! The theme was "why we vid." For me, although video is inherently a visual medium, the important part has always been the emotions rather than the aesthetics. When I started this video, I thought that was pretty much what I was going to talk about, but then I started getting really philosophical in the title cards. I had the hardest time deciding on a song, but in the end I went with this one because it felt right, even if wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I left the editing really understated because it fit the song and because even now I don't always use a lot of transitions in my edits. This definitely doesn't represent every show and movie I've edited over the years, but I did try to include a lot of them, wherever they fit the lyrics.
