akiTONE's video: DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT - Goku vs Vegeta S-Rank Perfect

@DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT - Goku vs. Vegeta, S-Rank, Perfect
"With enough hard work and training, even garbage can surpass the elite!" Here's the fated battle between mountain boy and the smol prince of mad-hair, done with no damage, and no transformations. I also held off on using the Consecutive Energy Blast so that we could really get up close and personal with this fight, so you also get to see how the Surging and Break/Stun Meter mechanics work, as well as how crazy useful the Burst function is. (You totally didn't see me run out of Ki mid-combo btw.) I swear, the more I play these boss battles the more I grow to like this game. I was floored when I found out that you can knock an enemy out of their Surge state. The free hit with the cutscene was also a nice touch. So Vegeta's a pretty tough boss, especially since he also has the Consecutive Energy Blast, which can absolutely ruin your day if you're too close when it comes out. This move alone ruined quite a few attempts on this no-damage fight. It's also easy to accidentally run into those stray energy balls while you're dodging Vegeta"s Combination Dash; I even had one ball tag me after the camera switched angles and I went in for the punish. ._. But overall, it's a SUPER fun boss fight, and really enlightened me as to just how fun this game's combat engine can be, even 1 on 1. In regards to Bosses and Surging: it appears the attack patterns they use while Surging are determined by their health level. In this fight alone, I've seen Vegeta use 3 different patterns, one for each of his last 3 health bars. If you manage to deal damage fast enough, you can actually skip some of these attack patterns, as well as mess with the flow of dialogue during the fight. Near the end, you'll notice at one point, one of Vegeta's lines gets overwritten by Goku's, and Goku's line at the end is cut short before the fade to black. (I think I did this in the Yamcha fight as well. Normally Yamcha's comments on Piccolo's fighting skill comes after Piccolo says that he doesn't remember Yamcha. I managed to have the convos intertwine with each other.) What's more, as mentioned above, it's actually possible to knock a boss out of Surging if you empty their stun gauge while they're attacking. Don't forget, Surging buffs your stats, so you'll need to hit harder than usual (or time your attacks really, really well) if you want to give this a shot. Both tactics are handy if you want to avoid a particular wave of attacks that a Surging boss can use at a given level of health. Otherwise, that's it for me for now! I hope you found these vids interesting or educational! Now that I finally get how combat works, I'm gonna just enjoy the rest of my journey through the world and story of Dragon Ball Z... ... 'till next time!
