What makes this particular minigame fun is when the LuPavarot or Bell Gong show up midway through to mess with your controls or timing. LuPavarot will try to confuse you with "Trip Song", and reverse your controls. Meanwhile, Bell Gong will cause shots to fly at you twice as fast. And as you'll see on Hard mode, it's possible for the both of them to show up at the same time. For such a simple minigame, things can get pretty hectic, especially if you're playing on Hard. It's quite fun! Speaking of, if you're having difficulty reading Rocky's shots on Hard, try and keep on eye on the order in which its shots are fired, as well as the shadows they cast on the ground. Weirdo trivia: the virus LuPavarot is featured in this game, but the singing virus that has "Trip Song" is actually LuDonna, the blue variant. The in-game "Trip Song" Battle Card is wrong too: its art depicts the green variant LuPelvis, as in the "Power Song" card. Your prize for clearing these minigames are the "Recovery +10", "Recovery +50", and "Recovery +100" Battle Cards. Should you lose all your HP during Free Battle, having one of these cards will refill your HP by the percentage shown on the card. (E.g., Recovery +50 will heal you for 50% of your life gauge.)
