@Ray-Ban Fake Wayfarer Detailed Pictures - RB 2140
there is a lot of info online about how to check whether ray-ban sunglasses are real or fake. below are some of my findings based on different informative websites, youtube videos (unboxing videos & informative "what-to-look-for" videos), and educated friends. i found that lots of the information is misleading & here are the things that i have found through my own research of online materials are (not all of these items are actually the way to tell, however): according to the misleading information available from my research of online sources, it is FAKE if: cardboard box: 1. gray ray-ban outer cardboard box (instead of silver) 2. no recycle logo on the outer cardboard box 3. small product information barcode sticker on outer ray-ban cardboard box (instead of large barcode sticker) 4. the red ray-ban logo is too big or does not have the TM mark next to it soft leather case: 5. no "RB" logo on button of outer soft leather case. 6. gold luxottica stamp should be engraved on leather case (instead of stamped on the surface) 7. there should be a velvety-fur on the inside of the leather softcase actual frames & lenses: 8. HARD TO EXPLAIN: the glasses should have the "RB" logo on the metal under the clear nosepads. this RB logo should be upside-down when the glasses are right-side up (whatever this means!?!? but i actually found this info written somewhere on the web...but, how do you know if the sunglasses are upside-down or rightside-up, because different people rest their sunglasses differently on tables, etc...also, i found that the "RB" logo is actually in a different direction. for instance, a better way to explain this is to say that the "RB" logo either is written the right way or wrong upside-down way when looking at the nosepiece from the INSIDE of the glasses. so they say it goes like "up/down ways" but ive seen that it really goes "left/right ways") 9. there is no "Ray-ban" logo on the top of the right-eye lens 10. there is no "RB" logo ETCHED on the left-eye lens. some sltes say that the RB should be etched slightly above the hinge, & if its under the hinge, then its fake. 11. the left-ear arm does not have the proper writing on it. 12. the right-ear arm does not have "Ray-ban Made in Italy CE" or something like that 13. the rubber (if any) on the ear-hooks have a slimy or sticky rubber instead of a "powdery" textured rubber 14. if the glasses came in a plastic bag of any kind, its fake 15. if the black writing on the gold sticker that comes on the left-eye lens is not centered on the gold sticker = fake 16. if the cleaning cloth is not gray with red writing, or the Ray-ban logo does not have the TM logo, or the font of the logo is over-sized, or the wrong font = fake miscellaneous: 17. if the price is just too good to be true 18. the information pamphlet that is included is not super shiny or has spelling mistakes or does not include the information that can be found somewhere else on the frames or cardboard box (HARD TO UNDERSTAND: does this mean the model number? serial number? its just too vague...) THAT IS THE FAKE LIST...They say that if you have any of the above on your glasses, they are fake. So theres the list of what information on the internet says about your glasses being fake. A lot of that information is untrue (which you can find a real vs. fake comparison on my next video, PT. 2). My point for this video is, you may actually have real ray-bans, even if your friends, websites, unboxing videos, and other signs tell you that your Ray-bans are fake. When I bought these pairs, I assumed they were real. After about 2 years from purchase, friends have told me about fakes, i looked up info for myself, and finally have even taken these to the Sunglass Hut (official seller of genuine ray-bans) to determine their authenticity. The websites told me that a few things could have been fake, however, Ray-ban retailers have vouched that they are in fact real.
