En esta parte del film Dong FangXu entrena Baguazhang con la Palma Mágica de Ganzhou. Según algunos historiadores este maestro se corresponde con el Mítico Artista Marcial Guo Yunshen (1827-1902) "Palma Mágica" de Xing Yi, de allí que siempre relacionan el Baguazhang con el Xing Yi Quan (Hsing I). Este entrenamiento le sirve para su encuentro final con el Hércules Ruso Datlov, quien difamó retandoa un combate a los enfermos chinos como los llamaba , dañando así el nacionalismo y la dignidad del país. Por cierto existe una versión moderna de este película con el actor Jet-Li denominada "Fearless"
