Firstly wishing all my fellow subscribers and friends a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year 2023. On this special day, I would like to take you all on a trip to the memory lane and wind the clock back to 2016. At that time the Kota-Ratlam section was one of the hot topics of the town owing to the upcoming Talgo trials that the railways were planning to conduct between Delhi-Mumbai. So before the grandeur unfolded, me and my Railfan friend Akash Girdhar took a trip to Jhalawar Road station in the peak summer season to enjoy the sizzling MPS bonanza which this section had to offer. One such amazing crossing which we witnessed during the night hours was the clash of the TKD WAP-7's that were leading the big dogs of this route namely the Indore Intercity Express and Bandra Garib Rath Express. First came in the 12415 Indore Intercity Express (then in ICF rake) led by it's customary TKD WAP-7 as it knocks out the Jhalawar Road station with a flat out 110 km/hr punch as it heads towards it's destination Delhi in a jiffy. Just as the Indore Intercity showcased the ICF aggression of 110 km/hr in came another hurricane that was Mumbai bound. This was also an ICF train but clocked at a higher speed than the Indore Intercity Express. It was none other than the 12910 Bandra Garib Rath Express that was led by another TKD WAP-7 as it bulleted past the dim lit Jhalawar Road station at flat 130 kmph speed while putting in some hard honking to kill the silence that had been prevailing for sometime. It was an amazing clash of the two speedsters on a sweaty summer night as the two trains made their presence felt at their respective speeds. Now fast forward to 2023, the Indore Intercity Express has been upgraded to LHB rake and is now dominating this section at 130 km/hr speed while on the other hand the Bandra Garib Rath Express is enjoying it's last glory days in the ICF avatar while continuing the domination it has been doing for a long time.
