Temples of South India - KARUVELI Kovil , Kumbabhishekam. The place is known as Thiriu Karuveli, and temple as kotitai. The temple is situated on the River bank of Arasalru, about 6 kms from Thiru Veezhimizhalai. Main deity is huge Swayambu Lingam known as Sarguna Nadeswarar and his consort Sarguna Nayaki. Teertham is known as Yama teertham which is seen in front of the temple. The name Karuveli means Lord Sarguneswarar helps one to get out of their Karma.King Sarguna worshipped and was blessed by Lord Siva, hence the name Sarguneswarar for Lord Siva in this place.
