becksdollface's video: osprey nest west of Libby Montana

Headed east into Montana on US-2 along the Kootenai River just west outside Libby city limits, I saw this nest atop a telephone pole. I drove back & parked across the highway fumbling with the video camera as I saw a head pop up .. then another & another until there were 6 of them. Two left the nest first & flew a bit west to perch atop some trees just watching. Then the other 4 flew up one by one circling the nest for about 10 - 15 minutes & chirping up a storm. I waited patiently for them to all return for a group photo but never happened. Eventually the circling foursome flew higher & further north while the 2 perched to the west just kept watching me. I thought it was an eagle nest but the white underside of the birds did not look like eagles. Libby has a couple large rusty bronze colored eagle sculptures near the center of town so was not sure what I saw until I visited the "Birds of Prey Center" near Boise, Idaho & talked with a couple of their experts. I did learn the osprey can grasp 1200 pounds with their talons ... wonder if I was being watched as a danger ? what a ride that could have been!!
