Let's begin through the inaccessible stuff. While these first few levels don't have too much differences from what I can see, I'll admit that I was taken aback by the DRASTICALLY different castle theme. I've seen it mentioned in TCRF's barebones article, but until now I've never actually heard it for myself. I gotta say, I rather like it. Shame it was replaced though.
