Glutamin ist die wohl wichtigste Einzelaminosäure überhaupt. Vom Volumen her macht sie ca. 50% aller Aminosäuren in der Skelettmuskulatur aus. Man spricht zwar von einer nicht essentiellen Aminosäure (d. h. der Körper kann sie selbst bilden), aber zu diesem Zweck müssen andere Aminosäuren mühsam "umgebaut" werden. Daher sollte Glutamin immer ausreichend zur Verfügung stehen. Vitamin B6 trägt seinerseits zu einem normalen Eiweiß- und Glycogenstoffwechsel, sowie zur Verringerung von Müdigkeit und einer normalen Funktion des Immunsystems bei.
