60009 Union of South Africa undertook a loaded test run around the Carnforth Circle. It is first seen at Bentham, running to time. Leaving Hellifield 7 mins early, the train gained time as the normal 1447 service train from Clitheroe to Rochdale was cancelled. This meant it crested Wilpshire 30 mins early, A quick stop at Blackburn meant the train was now 86mins ahead of schedule. Further time was gained at Preston and by the time it passed Forton the train was 170mins early. Apologies for the small piece of thread that can be seen flicking around on the first shot, i hope it doesnt spoil your viewing
