Due to a points failure at Carnforth this train was rerouted, and having started at Darlington it ran via Newcastle -Carlisle Upperby - Preston. At Preston 47813 was detached from the train and ran back to Carnforth. Meanwhile D345 40145 joined the train to haul the train for the rest of the day. This would entail taking the train back north to Carlisle Upperby and the south on the S and C to Appleby. After a break the train would continue to Leeds - York - Darlington and Newcastle. The two moves are seen at Hampson Lane Ellel
