เพลงเรื่องต้นเพลงฉิ่งออกพระยาพายเรือ วงฟองนํ้า [ Fong Naam ] , Ton Phleng Ching Suite and The Noble Man's Rowing Song - The " Ton Phleng Ching " Suite is perhaps the oldes extant suite for the Mahori orchestra dating from the Ayudhya Period [ 1351 - 1767 ]. The " Ching " Songs are a special category of music which are so called because there are no drums used but only the small finger cymbals called " ching ." This means that the phrases are often asymetrical. The suite was employed in the Mahori version in courtly functions, while the Pipat version [ ensembles including instruments which are either hit or blown ] was most often used for religious ceremonies such as the Early Morning Feeding of the Monks Ceremony. The ensemble used in this performance, however, represents the most modern development in the Mahori tradition. The Classical instrumentation of the popular Mahori ensemble known as " Kreuang Ku " has been modified slightly by omitting a few instruments and adding the deep resonant gongs and a synthesizer. The textures created by this new orchestration put the ancient melodies in a new light, high-lighting their relevance to our present era.
