The other boys, the rich Christopher Brown (Nick Robinson), of Chicago in 1962 and a high school student Jesse Vaughan (Logan Lerman), of 1974 in Los Angeles, facing their different situations, bound by the book when Edward wrote, celebrating in a spectacular ending. It may be set in 1945 or 1962 or 1974, but it is always vividly and urgently.
