November 22 1961 - Billboard's Spotlight section says of Rock-aHula-Baby,"Here's a Presley twist special.....ideal for the new dance craze." Location filming of Blue Hawaii commenced on March 17, 1961 in Hawaii, and ended on April 17. Producer Hal Wallis ordered a 10pm curfew for the actresses. They started looking tired on set from partying each night with Elvis and his entourage.
