This is the 1968 version of Bengawan Solo (梭羅河之戀), sang by Poon Sow Keng (潘秀瓊). Originally an Indonesian folk song written in 1940 by Gesang Martohartono. The melody was carried back to Japan by soldiers and given Japanese lyrics. It’s popularity spread to other countries in Asia. In 1956, Poon Sow Keng recorded a Chinese version of this song.
