Gong Qiuxia (龚秋霞) was known as a movie star. She is one of the original “Seven Great Singing Stars” of China (七大歌星). She had a nickname “Older Sister” because of the motion picture characters she played. Later, she formed a singing group consisting of Chen JuanJuan, Zhang Fan, Chen Qi, and Gong Qiuxia (陳娟娟, 張帆, 陳琦, 龔秋霞) and was called the “Four Sisters” (四姊妹). Each performer sang their own hits.
