To mark the 25th anniversary of the FA Cup 3rd round in 1988-89 here's 15 minutes of nostalgic footage of that round. It is best remembered for non-league Sutton United dumping out 1987 winners Coventry City, but other shocks include 2nd Division Bradford City beating Spurs and 4th Division Grimsby Town winning at 1st Division Middlesbrough. Elsewhere, eventual winners Liverpool beat Carlisle United 3-0, champions elect Arsenal lose after a replay to struggling West Ham and a youthful Manchester United overcome QPR after three games. Top goals scored include Andy Townsend (Norwich), Kevin Sheedy (Everton), Bryan Robson (Manchester United) and Kevin Gage (Aston Villa). (please note this is not meant to be a complete summary of the 3rd round that season - no offence is intended by any matches not included as in most cases I simply do not have the footage).
