This video shows how to remove Brake light error light on dash that stays on when ebrake is down. My car does it occasionally and this is the fix. If this does not fix your light, it could be an indication of other issues. This is by far the easiest to check. This fix may apply to other cars as well since most use similar systems. Vehicle is a 1995 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed LWB V46 2.8 Diesel.
