christinawhy's video: Oreo Rice Krispies Treats christinawhy

@Oreo Rice Krispies Treats | christinawhy
Happy Day! I thought this would be the perfect sweet treat to make because it's so easy! This is an (Cookies n' Cream) take on the original rice krispies treats and honestly I don't think I can go back. These are sure to be a hitter *chef's kiss* Shoutout to the real MVP of this video, my gf Chelsie for helping me film this! PARTY SIZE (Serves 4+) *I cut the recipe in half for video purposes What you will need: ‣12 tablespoons (1-1/2 sticks) unsalted butter ‣Two 10-oz bags mini marshmallows, divided ‣3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract ‣1/2 teaspoon salt ‣8-1/2 cups Rice Krispies or crispy rice cereal ‣1 1/2-2 sleeves of Oreos (crushed) ‣5 quart pot ‣Rubber spatula and/or wooden spoon ‣Foil ‣9x13-inch pan Directions: 1. Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with heavy duty aluminum foil 2. Lightly grease with softened butter, oil or non-stick cooking spray. 3. Set aside 2 cups of the marshmallows. 4. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium-high heat (save the wrappers for pressing the mixture into the pan). After the butter melts, it will begin to bubble, foam, and turn golden around the edges. Eventually it will turn a dark golden color. Watch carefully, it will go from golden brown to burned quickly. (You'll see little bits of brown sediment forming; that's okay.) 5. Once the butter is browned add the remaining marshmallows, vanilla, and salt. 6. Once the mixture has become a smooth consistency, remove the pot from the heat. 7. Add the cereal and crushed Oreos to the mixture. Using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, stir until evenly combined. 8. Place the pot over low heat and add the reserved marshmallows. 9. Stir until they are softened and partially melted (you want pockets of goo). 10. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and use the butter wrapper or damp fingers to press the mixture gently into an even layer in the prepared baking pan. 11. Let cool at room temperature for at least 2-3 hours. 12. Use the foil overhang to lift the treats onto a cutting board, then cut into bars or squares. 13. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. TIPS: »They can easily burn, so make sure to keep your eyes on it especially towards the end when you add in the reserve of marshmallows. »Chunky Oreos and gooey marshmallows MAKE this treat as delicious as it is.
