ck7813's video: ProtoThrottle video series part VIII: Athearn Tsunami 2 programming 2019 and later

In part VIII of the ProtoThrottle video series, the programming of an Athearn Genesis (OEM) Tsunami 2 decoder is presented. Sometime in 2019, Athearn started wiring the front ditch lights to "F7" and "F8" on the decoder output, as opposed to F3 (fx3) and F4 (fx4) that has previously occurred. As a result, the usual remapping of Athearn Genesis locomotives for the ProtoThrottle is no longer accurate. After several weeks of investigation, a new set of CV values was verified to get the lighting functions on the new Athearn locomotives to work. I believe this change corresponds to when Athearn switched form incandescent bulbs to LEDs, but I cannot verify that. Here are the CVs values that I used in the video. Please note, this is for an entire setup of the locomotive for the ProtoThrottle. CV3 = 200 CV4 = 255 CV31 = 16 CV1.257 = 0 CV1.258 = 19 CV1.263 = 5 CV1.264 = 5 CV57 = 243 58 = 243 Brakes: CV1.403 = 0 CV117 = 255 Prevents RPMs from dramatically increasing when apply throttle: CV2.511 = 0 CV2.512 = 0 CV112 = (current value +8) Please note, this is for informational purposes only, I am not responsible for any errors or issues you encounter. On the Tsunami 2 decoder, setting CV8 to a value of 8 resets the decoder to factory settings. If you encounter issues, it is recommended to reset the decoder.
