February 26, 2014 -- Rachel Shoaf addresses the court before being sentenced Wednesday in Monongalia County Circuit Court. Shoaf pleaded guilty last May to second-degree murder in the July 2012 death of 16-year-old Skylar Neese. Co-defendant Sheila Eddy was sentenced January 24, 2014 to life in prison with mercy for first-degree murder. Eddy will be eligible for parole in 15 years. Although the state of West Virginia will recommend a 20-year sentence -- per the plea agreement between Rachel Shoaf and Monongolia County prosecutors -- Judge Clawges has the power to sentence Rachel from anywhere between 10 to 40 years.
