For this reason, you still must use caution! Saturate your hair and cover for as long as you have time and are comfortable. When you're all finished, wash out with shampoo and follow with a conventional conditioner. If any sneaks out, be sure to clean it up immediately - before it sets. And use a black or old t shirt. ---------- Benefits This mix will give you the moisturizing benefits of coconut and grapeseed oil as well as the unbeatable shine and conditioning effects of henna. ** Use caution if you have fair hair - the lighter then hair, the more likely it is that henna could change your hair color. ---------- Ground Rules for DIY Cosmetics Always spray your utensils and containers down with rubbing alcohol before using When using oils or butters, NEVER include water in the mixure When using oils or butters, it's always good to add a small bit (1-2 capsules) of Vitamin E oil to extend the life of your product ---------- My Recipe Was really imprecise! I'm estimating I used about 3 tbsp of coconut oil and 4 tbsp of grapeseed oil - plus almost the entire brick of LUSH henna. Use more grapeseed oil if you are in a cold climate or if it is winter where you are. Use less if you are in a tropical climate. I also added about a tablespoon of catnip herb. Whipped DIYs take practice so don't get frustrated if your whip doesn't turn out great the first time.
