combattacticsgroup's video: No-GI Entry That Works 95 Of The Time

@No-GI Entry That Works 95% Of The Time
Following up on yesterday’s post about using Wing Chun in a grappling scenario. Today we’re going over an entry that we use with 95% success rate in a grappling No-GI scenario. The entry we’re going over today is heavily influenced by Wing Chun and JKD principles that we use for stand-up as well. The very first move you’ll see Henry do is to go for the neck and arm. If the opponent gives you the opening for you to successfully enter in for the head and arm, do it! There’s no need to trap and do anything extra if the opening is there for you. The follow up to this is if the opponent is wise to this and begins to counter your attempts. So in this case, if your opponent tries to stop your hand from entering in for the head and arm control, you can easily fake and run your hand outside to re-establish neck control as you’ll see Henry do in this video. With anything, your success will largely depend on your ability to make your opponent believe your attacks. If you try to go for the head and your opponents hand tries to stop you, run your hand outside of his counter and you’ll successfully get the neck. If your opponent is wise or fast enough to realize what’s going on, he’ll most likely block your hand from running around his initial counter. In this case, you’ll see both Henry and Mark demonstrate how to snap your opponent’s defense down and reclaim head and arm control. In Wing Chun, this is what we call in Cantonese “Jow Sao” (literal translation is running hand) to “Jut Sao” (snapping hand). As a follow-up to our last video, any martial arts will work in any given scenario if you know how to properly adapt/apply the specific motion and principles. We have success with this chain of attacks in a No-GI scenario almost all the time!
